VMWare datastore capacity increase issue

When I was trying to increase the capacity on a datastore from vCenter, I constantly get the following error:

I reached out to Rafael Lopez and he said he never saw that before.

I then opened a ticket with VMWare (#13363336308).
An engineer (Balvinder Thakur) called me and checked with me via WebEx.
He tried and got the same error. He did some research and asked me to log in to ESXi host and he was able to increase the datastore size.

The error occurred because vCenter cannot perform this task.

Lesson learned.
