It is a proof that bpbackup -I can only be run by root on a master or media server as it’s stated in Veritas NetBackup Commands reference Guide (https://www.veritas.com/content/support ... -127136857):
The -i option of bpbackup starts an immediate manual backup of a client. The bpbackup option is available only to the administrator on the master server. It is equivalent to when you start a manual backup from the NetBackup Administration Console.
